About Calendula Salve💛
Calendula salve is a useful homemade herbal balm. Calendula (Pot-Marigold) is known for its anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial properties. It can be used topically for soothing minor cuts and scraps, bug bites, and dry skin. Calendula salve is made using calendula blossoms, olive oil, and beeswax.
Join Fiona at Groundswell Greenhouse, who will take you through all the steps in the salve making process, from the sunny bright flowers to a jar of creamy salve. Leave with the knowledge on how to make some at home as well as your very own jar of salve.
Learn also about other flowers you can use for this purpose and how they can also benefit your garden.
About Fiona: Fiona has had a deep love of plants and gardening since childhood. She grew up tending to a community garden she shared with her neighbours- planting vegetables from seeds, foraging for native plants, and cultivating a love for the natural world. She feels most at home surrounded by trees, moss, or a beautiful garden. Fiona worked in outdoor education for several years and currently studies Landscape Architecture at the University of Guelph. She hopes to use her degree to create spaces like Groundswell, where plants and community thrive.
