Create a feast for the eyes, the nose and the pallet.

You will learn how to combine edible flowers and herbs into one beautiful bouquet that will feed your senses and your family all summer. Keep your container close to the kitchen door and make every meal tastier and healthier.

You will go home with a planter, filled with herbs, and flowers which will develop and grow over the season and in the fall you can dry them for winter meals.

Workshop – May 14- 6:30 to 8
Members – $30 Non-members – $35

Things to bring: water, gardening gloves, trowel, gardening journal. Dress in layers for the greenhouse.

Harvesting Herbs for Winter Health

A lot of herbs go to waste when autumn frost comes. Learn how to harvest Herbs simple and easy ways. This doesn’t have to be difficult and it can be fun. It can also involve the whole family.
The organic herbs from your own garden will have twice the food value, scent and taste as store bought herbs do and they are soooo much cheaper.
You will learn different methods to dry herbs and how to store them to use throughout the winter months.
You will hands on harvest and prepare herbs for drying during the workshop.

Garnishing Your Meals Gourmet Style

Fresh herbs add so much flavor and nutrition to your meals.
You will learn about the nutrition, flavors and uses of over 15 herbs.
You will build your own attractive herb pot for your patio or balcony – close by for quick harvesting for dinner or beverage refreshment time.
You will learn how to care for your herb garden throughout the summer.
You will share ideas and recipes of your own that use herbs.
You will make herb tea to enjoy and have leftovers to take home.

Time to feel lighter, brighter and breezy. Push the heaviness of winter away as you come out of hibernation to enjoy the new beginnings of spring.
Understand why we need to cleanse our bodies and ignite our brains. Explore the impact of seasonal diet changes. Take your favorite recipes and add herb goodness.
dandelionsThis workshop will include a dandelion walk and then time in the kitchen to make some healthy goodness to take home: buds for a dandelion stir fry, salad dressing to add to your new greens, a spring tonic/cleanser, and a dandelion root tincture.
