Join Heather and her gentle, infectiously good humoured presentation on eating our way to health. This 2 part workshop focuses on Herbs – when to pick them for optimal nutrient qualities & how to dry, store and prepare them for use.

These sessions will provide you with herb info that will sharpen your families enjoyment of herbs as food or supplement to support your immune system through the coming seasons.
We will move from lecture to hands-on making of several herbal foods and medicines including a herbal
honey cough syrup, herbal tea, medicinal tincture, and healing salves. You will be taking home samples for your own use.

Heather Fischbuch – Facilitator Rehabilitation Practitioner, Registered Massage therapist and instructor, Registered
Aromatherapist and Herbalist, Registered Acupuncturist , Permaculture Design Certificate Member
Heather comes from a lineage of medicine making women; one of her grandmother of French traditions
utilizing the topicals and aromatics, and one grandmother of German stock using tinctures, teas, and
moon phases to address all manner of ills. She was ranch raised in Piikani Blackfoot territory along the
eastern slopes of the Alberta Rocky Mountains. Thanks to these two women Wildcrafting native plants
to make medicine and food has been a lifelong practice of hers. Through research and learning she has
expanded her plant knowledge and completed a 10 yr science project with renowned Alberta herbalists
at the department of Alberta Agriculture, distillation of essential oils involving over 50 native plant
species. Heather has presented at the world Aromatherapy Conference and facilitated dozens of
workshops.
