TCM or Traditional Chinese Medicine is one of the more popular forms of alternative medical care that has grown out of modern Western medical culture. People who want to improve their health and prevent disease often look to traditional healing methods. There are many different forms of this type of medical care, including acupuncture and acupressure.

While there are numerous forms and theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the most well-known is TCM. In short, acupuncture is a very old form of Chinese medicine that has been refined over time. Since thousands of years, acupuncture has been used in China as a method of health care. Acupuncture has been described as a pseudo science; the concepts and practices of TCM are largely not based on solid scientific evidence and is often characterized as quackery.

TCM is based on the belief that the body can heal itself by using natural herbal products. This is different from modern medicine, where modern doctors look to the disease for clues as to how to treat the illness. Instead, traditional Chinese medicine believes that the body can heal itself through the changes it undergoes, specifically when it is suffering from ailments. If the practitioner believes the ailment is due to an imbalance of yin or yang, or hot and cold forces within a body, they may look for herbal remedies that can be used to treat the condition.

Traditional Chinese medicine and tcm posit that illness is caused in part by imbalances of the four elements yin, Yang, Water, Wind. A person will have a healthy body if they have the right balance of yin and Yang. This will result in a good health condition. However, when the yin and yang are out of balance due to factors such as too much heat or too much cold, the result will be a suffering body. When a TCM practitioner believes that an illness is caused by these factors, they will often begin to use treatments that restore the yin and yang balance to the person’s body so that they can once again enjoy good health.

TCM practitioners believe that the four elements – namely, yin and yang, which are believed to be fixed by nature – interact through the Qi to create health and ill health. They believe that if these two forces are out of balance, then there will be illness and disease in one’s life. TCM treatments can help restore balance to the Qi. They aim to increase the yin/yang in the body. TCM treatments like acupuncture, herbal supplementation, and massage all aim to promote the flow of Qi.

Both acupuncture and tcm can be used together. TCM practitioners believe that acupuncture allows the patient to release negative energy while at the same time encouraging positive energy to enter and circulate throughout the body, thus improving health and combating disease. TCM practitioners also believe that tcm helps patients to rid themselves of toxins and those with weak immune systems, allowing them to fight off illness and disease. Massage can help to soothe the muscles and connective tissues, helping the body restore itself to optimal function.
